Hospitals are obligated to display a list of regular costs for commodities and services delivered at the facility on their website.
The list of standardized prices is applied consistently to all patients. However, total charges may vary from patient to patient based on the services given due to the patient’s medical condition and any necessary accommodations.
While the list of standardized charges is specific to the Hospital, it does not provide the actual cost (patient out of pocket liability) of a procedure because the patient’s balance due is determined by various characteristics of a patient’s health insurance, such as whether the hospital is “in-network” or not, as well as the deductible, copay, and coinsurance requirements of a patient’s health insurance plan.
If you have any insurance issues, please call the Managed Care Department at 703.558.5175.
